A collaboration between a local designer, an architect, two engineers, several technicians and builders produced this house in Stonington as proof of maximum energy efficiency. An advanced Passive House custom design utilizing Thermomass® concrete, heavy exposed wood beams and Neopor® structural insulated panels, its dimensions were determined by the size of the 10Kw solar panel array on the roof. The house generates more energy than it uses, and sells it back to the grid.
A geothermal system coupled with three heat recovery ventilation units provide year round comfort. EnergyStar appliances from SubZero, Wolf, Miele, GE and Whirlpool assure elegant efficiency.
